Si prefiere alquilar un automóvil, la mayoría de las principales empresas tienen oficinas en San José, Liberia y algunas en Tamarindo. Recomendamos encarecidamente trabajar con Adobe.

Volar

La mayoría vuela a Costa Rica, y está en uno de los dos aeropuertos: LIR en Liberia o SJO en San José. Para aprovechar al máximo sus vacaciones en Playa Grande, alentamos a nuestros visitantes a volar a LIR. SJO es a menudo menos costoso que LIR; Sin embargo, SJO a Playa Grande es a menudo un viaje de cuatro a cinco horas. LIR, por otro lado, está a solo una hora de distancia. Los visitantes también tienen la opción de volar vuelos nacionales al aeropuerto de Liberia.

Autobús

Si vuela a San José y prefiere tomar un autobús, puede reservar sus boletos en graylinecostarica.com. El autobús público solo llega a Playa Grande dos veces al día; 7:00 a.m. y 2:00 p.m.

Indicaciones de viaje

From the airport turn right when you get to the main road. Shortly after passing through Filadelfia, make a right turn toward Tamarindo and Playa Grande. After about 20 minutes, you will go over a steep hill and come to a cross-roads town called Huacas. The signs will say to turn left to go to Tamarindo, but you will continue straight for another 5-8 minutes until you reach a small town with a soccer field called Matapalo. Following the signs to Playa Grande, you will turn left immediately after passing the soccer field. This road will bring you directly into Playa Grande. When you arrive in Playa Grande follow the signs towards Rip Jack Inn. The specific location is 100 meters to the south of the MINAE office (there is a big turtle statue and a stop sign. This is where you turn left. We are the first building on the left after making the turn, about 100 meters.
From the airport get on the Pan American Highway (Hwy 1) north for approximately 2 hours toward Liberia/Penas Blancas (follow the road signs). You can follow signs for Tamarindo starting almost right away. Just after passing Matapalo (may or may not be apparent), turn left toward the Tempisque Bridge (also called Puente Amistad de Taiwan) – be watching for the sign. Once you cross the bridge, you continue going straight until you come to a “T” intersection, at which you turn right, toward Nicoya and Tamarindo. Now heading north, continue until Belen, where you turn left toward Tamarindo and Playa Grande. After about 20 minutes, you will go over a steep hill and come to a cross-roads town called Huacas.
