Update on entry requirements for tourists visiting Costa Rica

As of October 26th, tourists will no longer need to provide a negative Covid test to enter the country of Costa Rica.  Tourism minister Gustavo Segura is quoted saying that during the last three months when the borders opened up, international tourism has not been a source of COVID-19 contagion.

Two requirements still remain:

  1. Tourists need to complete a health form prior to arrival and be able to present the Q code given to them.
  2. Visitors to Costa Rica will still need to purchase travel medical insurance. The insurance must be either a policy from INS or Sagicor — both Costa Rican companies — or a foreign policy that covers COVID-19 medical expenses and extended lodging.
